I’m Jerrod Douglas, the Fit Tech Guy. This blog started from a cybersecurity foundation, and I am keeping that content live because it still matters. Today, my focus is data science and how to turn messy information into clear decisions, especially in security, the public sector, and real world problem solving.
I served six years in the United States Air Force as a signals intelligence analyst, where I worked a wide range of missions and wore a lot of hats across the intelligence and cyber space. That experience is a big part of how I think and write. I care about signal versus noise, patterns that actually matter, and using data to support decisions instead of vibes.
Academically, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Operations with an emphasis in Defense and Forensics from the University of Arizona, and I also hold an associate degree in Intelligence Studies and Technology from the Community College of the Air Force. I am currently pursuing a Master’s at Johns Hopkins University in Data Analytics and Policy with a concentration in statistical analysis. Professionally, I am currently working as a data scientist, transitioning from a cyber intelligence role.
I have built a strong technical foundation through certifications including GIAC GCTI, GIAC GCIH, GIAC GPEN, CEH, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and Solutions Architect Associate. More importantly, I focus on making complex topics understandable and usable. That is the point of this site.
My content now centers on data science fundamentals, projects, machine learning, and practical workflows, with cybersecurity as a continuing theme and archive. I also share lessons from building outside of tech as the owner of Stoic Edge Fitness, the author of No Nonsense Tech, and the builder behind the Breakpoint Collective community.
“Without data, you are just another person with an opinion.”
— W. Edwards Deming
My goal is simple. I want you to leave each post with a clearer mental model, a practical next step, and the confidence to apply what you learned.!
